The client for this 2,575 SF new custom home in Botetourt, Virginia was particularly inspired by the prairie style of designer Frank Lloyd Wright and wanted a home to reflect the designer’s style. She was the caregiver for two live-in elderly aunts, so the design of the home featured both universal design elements and a master suite retreat where the client could escape for privacy and solace. Open spaces and clean lines dictate the floor plan. Locally harvested and milled hickory floors, wood casing and wood beams accentuate the warmth of the spacious home. Floor to ceiling windows capture panoramic 360-degree views of surrounding valleys and hillsides.
I live in a beautiful “prairie-style” dream home, thanks to the design and construction team at Structures. They understood my vision of an open, contemporary, “not-so-big” house. I had a great building experience, and years later, I wouldn’t change a thing about my home. Planning and building this house was one of the highlights of my life.
